Some legacies are written in books. Ours was written on a steel plate filled with chaat, served by hand, and passed from one generation to the next. At Kailash Parbat, our story begins long before social media, food trends, or restaurant chains. It begins with family. It begins with the streets of Bombay. And it begins with a commitment to something simple: make good food, serve it with care, and stay true to who you are.
Today, we’re proud to be a global name with several locations around the world, including right here in Frisco, Texas. But none of it happened overnight. It took decades of consistency, community, and love for what we do. This is the story of how Kailash Parbat became what it is today. From the 1950s to now, every chapter is filled with flavor.
Where It All Started
The 1950s in Mumbai were full of movement. India was finding its rhythm as an independent nation. The streets were alive with color, noise, and opportunity. It was at that moment that our founders saw a gap. People were hungry, busy, and looking for something quick but satisfying.
They started with chaat. It was fast, affordable, and bursting with flavor. The recipes were simple but well thought out. Crisp puris, soft potatoes, homemade chutneys, fresh yogurt, and a careful mix of spices. It didn’t take long for people to take notice. Our original stall became a landmark. Families came on weekends. Office workers came on their break. Neighbors brought neighbors. It wasn’t fancy. It didn’t need to be. What mattered was the taste, the care, and the feeling of eating something made just for you.
Growing With the City
As Mumbai grew, so did we. In the 1960s and 70s, the pace of life changed. Restaurants were popping up. People wanted to sit, relax, and enjoy their food. We responded by opening our first full-service location. The menu expanded, but the heart stayed the same.
We added Sindhi comfort food, Indo-Chinese favorites, and more regional classics, but chaat remained the center of it all. It was more than a snack. It was part of our identity. Our kitchen was still family-run. Our staff was treated like family, too. We believed that good food could only come from a good environment, and that belief shaped the way we grew.

Across Borders and Continents
By the early 2000s, something new started to happen. People who had grown up eating at Kailash Parbat had moved to other parts of the world. They missed our food. They missed the feeling. And they asked us to bring it to them. That is how we began to expand beyond India. From Singapore to Dubai, to London. Each location had the same intention, and that was to bring the flavors of Bombay to new cities without changing what made it special.
We didn’t just copy a look. We brought our chefs, our recipes, and our standards. We trained every team with the same values we had since day one. Fresh ingredients. Soon, Kailash Parbat became a name people recognized, even if they had never been to Mumbai. We became known as the place where vegetarians could eat freely, where families could gather, and where every dish had soul.
Staying True in a Changing World
From the 1950s to now, the world around us has changed dramatically. Technology, trends, and tastes have evolved. However, through it all, we’ve kept our focus. We’re still one hundred percent vegetarian. Not because it’s fashionable, but because it’s who we are. We know how to bring out the best in vegetables, grains, spices, and dairy. We never felt the need to add anything else.
We still make everything fresh. We still serve chaat the way we always have and we still believe that hospitality is about more than service. It’s about care, attention, remembering your favorite dish, and asking how your family is doing. That consistency is why guests come back. It’s why families bring their kids, then their grandkids. It’s why people feel at home at Kailash Parbat, no matter which city they’re in.
A New Chapter in Frisco
Opening in Frisco is not just a business move for us. It’s personal. We see a community here that values good food, warm spaces, and meaningful experiences. It reminds us of home. The Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex is filled with families, professionals, students, and explorers. Curious people who care and love ot explore new flavors. That’s who we want to serve.
At our Frisco location, we’ve brought everything that defines Kailash Parbat. The bold chaats. The comforting curries. The sizzling dishes. The creamy lassis. And the faloodas that taste just like the ones back home. We’ve also kept the atmosphere true to our spirit. It’s colorful, energetic, and welcoming. It’s designed to feel like a celebration, whether it’s your first visit or your tenth.

Looking Ahead
We are proud of how far we’ve come. From a single cart in the streets of Bombay to a global family of restaurants. From steel plates served standing on a street to thoughtfully plated dishes in cities across the world.
But we’re not finished. The legacy of Kailash Parbat is still being written. We plan to keep growing, but only in ways that make sense. We will continue to innovate, without losing sight of tradition. And we will always prioritize flavor, quality, and care.
